Project

IPCaR-TBI/SAFER (Traumatic brain injury)

Period
1 October 2013–31 December 2014
Project manager
Stefan Candefjord

The purpose is to facilitate the first clinical studies towards employing microwave technology in ambulances for detection of intracranial bleedings. If the long-term goal is successful, treatment for patients that sustain TBI in any road traffic accident can be improved, in particular by means of starting definitive treatment earlier. This will result in lives saved and that the rate and degree of permanent disabilities will be decreased.
