Period
22 June–11 December 2015
Project manager
Jonas Östh

Within the SAFER competence and focus areas there is a potential for new cross-border research. In the area of Biomechanics and Protective Systems, development of mathematical human body models primarily used for prediction of injury in simulated vehicle crashes are made. In the area of Care and Rescue, extrication of injured vehicle occupants is an area for which human body models have potential as research tools but have not been utilized to this date. The purpose of this pre-study is to identify research questions related to extrication of injured occupants that could be answered using mathematical human body models.
