Event

Research Perspectives on Road-user Behaviour, Active Safety and Crash Prevention

Date
27 August 2026 11:30-12:45
Place
SAFER, Lindholmen Innovation District, Kuggen, Lindholmsplatsen 1 or online

In this seminar, Jonas Bärgman and Marco Dozza, Chalmers University of Technology will share insights from their extensive research on road-user behaviour, crash causation, active safety, and traffic safety evaluation.

Their work focuses on understanding what happens before a crash occurs, how drivers, cyclists, and other road users interact with their environment, and how vehicle technologies can contribute to safer mobility. Drawing on naturalistic driving studies, crash investigations, behavioural modelling, and experimental research, they have contributed to advancing knowledge on both human behaviour and safety system performance.

The seminar will provide an opportunity to learn more about current research challenges and methodologies within vehicle and traffic safety, as well as emerging directions in areas such as automation, human-machine interaction, and active safety systems.
