FUSE4CCAM
Full title: Federated Unified Services advancing next generation - data exchange for CCAM
European Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) is generating vast and growing volumes of data — from field operational tests and in-service vehicle monitoring to infrastructure sensors and floating car data. Yet this data remains fragmented across incompatible silos, governed by divergent standards, and locked behind restrictive access arrangements. The result is duplicated effort, slow development cycles, and a persistent gap between research and large-scale deployment.
FUSE4CCAM addresses this challenge by creating a federated, trusted, and sustainable CCAM Data Exchange Platform for Europe. Rather than centralising data, the project implements a federation architecture in which operational data stays sovereign at source while a lightweight interoperability layer — built on harmonised semantics (CCAM-DCAT-AP), privacy-by-design connectors, and a shared governance and trust framework — enables seamless discovery, access, and reuse across diverse CCAM stakeholders. Building on proven building blocks from previous European initiatives including FAME, SUNRISE, and SYNERGIES, FUSE4CCAM extends these foundations into a cohesive, scalable platform that any CCAM actor — from OEMs and Tier suppliers to cities, regulators, and research institutions — can connect to and benefit from.
Traffic safety benefit: FUSE4CCAM enables federated access to crash, vehicle, and traffic data across Europe, supporting normalised crash rate analysis, ADAS safety effectiveness evaluation, and the development of new safety indicators.
