Satisfied students in the International Advanced Course on Injury Biomechanics, hosted by SAFER
During the whole week, around 90 participants have been participating in a course in biomechanics at Lindholmen Science Park, hosted by SAFER!
The well-known course International Advanced Course on Injury Biomechanics was arranged for the eighth time and never before has the interest been so great in learning about the subject, which aimed to introduce the participants to intermediate and advanced topics in the field of injury biomechanics.
“It has been great fun organising and hosting the course. Many of SAFER's collaboration partners seized the opportunity for competence development and this testifies that our collaboration platform has a strong offer and creates added value for our partners," says Malin Levin, one of SAFER's project managers for the event.
The subjects covered during the week included historical, contemporary, and emerging biomechanical science, injury risk functions, test devices, and regulations in car safety and sport. Also, a study tour to Autoliv in Vårgårda and Volvo Cars was arranged.
The unique aspects of the course involved active and open discussions with researchers and lecturers, interactive crash case reviews and networking with others within this field.
Close to 90 people from 20 countries participated in the training and the mix of backgrounds were broad; graduate students, safety engineers, researchers, biomedical engineers, and those interested in injury biomechanics, learned from the course.
The course was arranged in collaboration with researchers and professors from the University of Virginia’s Center for Applied Biomechanics, IIT-ICAI Comillas University, Chalmers University, Autoliv and other international leaders in the field. Beta CAE was proud sponsor of the course.
