CoDeSafe Workshop – Continuous Deployment & Assurance Case Generation
SAFER invites to a focused workshop on CoDeSafe – Continuous Deployment methodologies and Assurance Case generation, a VINNOVA pre-study initiative aimed at advancing safe and efficient deployment practices for automotive software systems.
As software development in the automotive industry shifts toward continuous integration and deployment, embracing DevOps practices, traditional safety assurance and verification methods are in need of improvement. This is especially true for ADAS and autonomous driving systems, where frequent updates, complex functionality, and dynamic operational domains etc. demand a new generation of methods that are fast, scalable, and trustworthy.
This workshop introduces a VINNOVA project proposal, aiming at researching a structured and modular methodology for efficient software development and verification, enabling continuous assurance cases for evolving vehicle functionalities.
We will explore key research questions and expected contributions, including:
- Modular product structures tailored for safe continuous deployment of complex, software-intensive automotive systems, including AI/ML.
- Forward-planned verification and argumentation strategies across multiple future deployment steps.
- Reusability of verification results across iterations and abstraction levels.
- A contract-based framework aligning requirements, verification, and argumentation structures.
- Integration of falsification techniques, including black- and gray-box testing with learning-based surrogate models.
- DevOps-compatible design principles for safe and agile deployment pipelines.
- A roadmap for tool support to partially automate assurance case generation in CI/CD environments.
A networking fika is included in the program around 10 o'clock, and the lunch is at own expense.
This workshop is especially relevant for those interested in joining the VINNOVA project proposal, contributing to its scope, and influencing its direction from the start.
