Docent Lecture by András Bálint "Statistical methods in traffic safety"
Welcome to András Bálint docent lecture "Statistical methods in traffic safety"
András Bálint obtained a Ph.D. degree in mathematics at VU University Amsterdam in 2009 and had two years of postdoctoral experience at the Department of Mathematics at Chalmers in the field of statistical mechanics and probability. Since 2012, he has worked at the Division of Vehicle Safety at the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences on several international projects related to traffic safety, including the development of safety benefit assessment methods for integrated vehicle safety systems in EU projects and a comparison of vehicle safety in the EU and USA. András is a very appreciated researcher within the SAFER network.
In this lecture, Dr. Bálint will provide an overview of challenges and expected future trends related to statistical modelling in traffic safety research, including some examples related to safety benefit assessment, injury severity prediction and long-term consequences of road crashes.
After the lecture, you are welcome to eat cake with us at SAFER.
Most welcome!
