EVIDENT Final event
Welcome to the final event for the project EVIDENT!
We are excited to share with you the groundbreaking work we have accomplished over the past two years. The EVIDENT project, which stands for Enabling VIrtual valiDation and vErificatioN for ADAS and AD features, has been a collaborative effort to revolutionize the way we validate and verify advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) features.
Project overview
The automotive industry is rapidly evolving, with software-driven innovations at the forefront. Traditional validation and verification (V&V) methods are no longer sufficient to keep up with the complexity and pace of these advancements. The EVIDENT project aimed to address this challenge by developing strategies that leverage virtual environments to complement or replace real-world testing scenarios.
Key objectives
- Enhance Testing Fidelity: Develop methods to quantify and ensure the realism of virtual testing environments.
- Proactive V&V Strategies: Shift from retroactive to proactive V&V by systematically extending real-world data with simulated scenarios.
- Resource Optimization: Efficiently allocate testing resources to address the most pressing challenges using insights from both real and virtual data.
Consortium and collaboration
Our consortium brought together leading expertise from research and industry, including:
- AstaZero: Project coordination and providing toolchain for physical test at proving ground.
- Aptiv, AstaZero, Chalmers and Einride: Providing vehicle platforms for physical testing.
- Aptiv, AstaZero, Einride, VTI and Zeekr: Providing different virtual toolchain and performing virtual testing.
- Aptiv: Expertise in perception systems and testing capabilities.
- VTI, RISE, University of Gothenburg, and Chalmers University of Technology: Academic and research excellence in simulation and validation methodologies.
- Asymptotic AI: AI/ML workbenches for processing large-scale vehicle data and annotation.
