Event

final presentation of the Automated Design and Optimisation of Vehicle Ergonomics (ADOPTIVE) research project

Date
25 March 2024 13:00–15:00
Place
Demostudion, Lindholmen, SAFER, Lindholmspiren 3A, second floor.

Welcome to the final presentation of the Automated Design and Optimisation of Vehicle Ergonomics (ADOPTIVE) research project!

Application for Automated Design & Optimisation of Vehicle Ergonomics (ADOPTIVE)
has aimed at studying physical vehicle user interaction and develop methodology for advanced vehicle ergonomics analyses within simulation tools. The ADOPTIVE project focused on assessment and optimisation of vehicle interior geometries and user accommodation levels of alternative design solutions by enabling fast, objective, and automated simulations of virtual driving test routines, performed by a family of manikins, and subsequent ergonomics evaluations. Accurate posture prediction models, together with improved virtual human models, can serve as input for human body models used in crash analyses. In the ADOPTIVE project, Volvo Cars, Scania, and Volvo Trucks have cooperated with researchers from University of Skövde and Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centre. The project has been funded by the research environment INFINIT at the University of Skövde, with support from the Knowledge Foundation (KK-stiftelsen) and the industry partners. This study adds important information to understanding and quantifying occupant postures in vehicles – a focus area for SAFER's human body protection research.

What will you see and hear?

  • Research and development done within the project, related to the use of virtual simulation tools for the assessment of physical ergonomics in vehicles.
  • Explanations of unique functionalities for advanced vehicle ergonomics analyses within the digital human modelling (DHM) tool IPS IMMA (Intelligently Moving Manikins) that has been developed within the project such as:
    • Improved virtual human models
    • Posture prediction models
    • Simulation of scenarios and motion prediction
    • Reach and vision analysis

Networking and cake is included!

Welcome!
