Maturing of the research on human body models for traffic safety

Location: Delta/Gamma Hörsalsvägen 7, Chalmers Campus Johanneberg
When: August 27, 2015, 13:15-14:15

Dr. Karin Brolin received her PhD from the Royal Institute of Technology in 2002 where she continued as Assistant Professor for a few years. She then worked at a private consulting company providing sales and support in the field of computational mechanics and simulation based design. In 2009, she was recruited to Chalmers and obtained the academic title, docent, in 2012. Since then she has been Associate Professor at the Division of Vehicle Safety, focusing on research in the fields of biomechanics and human body modelling.

"My vision is to promote understanding of the human body through open source models, that are biofidelic for a broad range of the human population and can predict injury for loads spanning from everyday activities up to severe crash impact."
