Place: Lindholmspiren 5
Room: Manegen, entrance floor
“Driver Performance and Behavior in Driver Support Systems”
Prof. John Lee
Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
Director of Human Factors Research, National Advanced Driving Simulator
University of Iowa
John Lee will discuss the need to understand the effect of emerging technology on driver performance and behavior, with particular emphasis on behavior as increasingly important in increasing safety. He will present a strategy that involves a combination of simulator, naturalistic, and model-based investigations, emphasizing that future safety gains will depend on supporting drivers with active safety systems rather than increased crashworthiness.
He will also discuss how driver support systems can support better behavior as an important way of enhancing safety.
