Welcome to learn from Carl Lindström from Zenseact. He is an industrial PhD student at Zenseact and Chalmers University, where he work on problems related to perception in autonomous driving. His current research interests are mostly focused on neural rendering for automotive scenes.
Learning to Drive in Simulation: Advancing Autonomous Vehicle Development with Neural Rendering.
Ensuring the safe operation of autonomous robots in human environments demands extensive testing and validation prior to deployment. Self-driving vehicles, as a key example, require rigorous, large-scale, and diverse testing to verify their safety across a wide range of scenarios and domains. Real-world testing, however, is both costly and time-consuming, while also constraining the range of scenarios that can be explored safely. In this talk, he will highlight recent research efforts toward creating sensor-realistic, high-fidelity digital twins of the world, and how these can help accelerate the development of safe autonomous systems.
