About Daniel's research
Daniel Nilsson is an industrial PhD student at Volvo Cars, associated to the accident prevention group at Chalmers. In his research, Daniel focuses on understanding and describing human behaviour in safety critical traffic situations, with the goal to develop driver behaviour models. Driver behaviour models are used for testing of active safety systems in a virtual testing environment. Through virtual testing, vehicle manufacturers can develop and evaluate active safety systems in a safe and efficient way, improving road safety and reducing the number of people killed in traffic.
