Welcome to the SAFER Thursday lunch and networking seminar March 5th at 11.30-12.30!
 
For the SAFER lunch and networking seminar week 10 we are very happy to welcome a group from CEVT. They will, as a relatively new SAFER Partner, give an overview of the company and speak about the new Chinese car brand Lynk & co. They will also present a study of the VIVA model used in a whiplash crash pulse.

CEVT (China Euro Vehicle Technology AB) has supported Geely Auto and Volvo Cars in building the new platform called CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) on which the current models Volvo XC40 and the new Chinese brand Lynk & Co are based. The new car brand was launched in China 2017 and now it will come to Europe!
                 
A study of the VIVA model in whiplash

A recently initiated master thesis study using the Human Body Model (HBM) VIVA model for a study of a whiplash crash pulse will be presented. Today, crash dummies are used to investigate many safety aspects regarding occupants in car crashes. Many questions about real world injuries cannot be answered by test dummies, instead models of the human body are needed. This project focuses on implementing a crash load case with an HBM in a CEVT developed car structure and investigate how it can be utilized in future development. The model is a female 50% and will be compared to a BIORID dummy, which is a male 50% dummy, for whiplash impacts. This comparison is of interest to see similarities or differences in behavior.
