SAFER invites you to a seminar with Ryan D. Lamm, Director R&D of the Applied Sensing Department at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). He will present on Perception and Localization Technologies for Automated Driving - Wednesday September 30, 2015 at 10:00-11:30!

Ryan D. Lamm, Director R&D of the Applied Sensing Department at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), will present on Perception and Localization Technologies for Automated Driving with the aim to introduce some of SwRI’s technologies including multi-spectral material classification, high detection rate and very low false positive highly-configurable object detection algorithms, and relative and absolute localization techniques for operating without dependence on GPS.  SwRI has approximately 40 engineers and scientists actively designing and developing on and off road automated driving enabling technologies for clients in the agriculture, automotive, construction, transport, and defense industries and has fully automated 8 uniquely different vehicle platforms. SwRI, headquartered in San Antonio, TX, is one of the oldest and largest independent, nonprofit, applied research and development organizations in the United States.
