Chinese consumer rating organizations, CATARC and CAERI, have announced that they will include a female size dummy in their rear impact testing. They have initiated the development of an average size female BioRID (EvaRID) physical dummy and Humanetics has produced several prototypes that are under evaluation by different organizations. IIHS is launching an update to their whiplash rating. EuroNCAP is investigating the feasibility and the need for a female size dummy in their rear impact whiplash testing. Cellbond has shown a prototype of a production version of the new SET dummies, that will come as both female and male average sizes. Several SAFER partners including VTI, Folksam, CIT and Chalmers have added recent contributions to the knowledge base for this development.

Practical Information

SAFER Thursday lunch seminars are held both at the SAFER office, Lindholmen Innovation District, building Kuggen, Lindholmsplatsen 1 or online (Teams).

• In-person attendance: Lunch will be provided at the SAFER office, starting at 11:30 AM. The seminar will then be held in a hybrid format from 12:00 to 12:45 PM. Registration is required for lunch. Please register for lunch by 12:00 PM on the Tuesday before the seminar.
• Online attendance: No registration is needed. Simply join via the Microsoft Teams link sent to all SAFER partners ahead of the event. The seminar is held in a hybrid format from 12:00 to 12:45 PM.
