Event

Workshop for implementation of STRADA in-depth module

Date
2 May 2024 13:00–15:00
Place
SAFER, ALdman

This workshop will focus on the next steps in implementing a pilot study aimed at developing a national in-depth database for traffic accidents, utilizing data from STRADA (Swedish Traffic Accident Data Acquisition) and the Swedish Transport Administration's Fatal Accident Database. The project aimed to extend the scope of in-depth studies to include serious injuries (AIS2+) in addition to fatal accidents, thereby enhancing Sweden's ability to monitor traffic safety comprehensively. By combining existing data sources and exploring missing data elements, the project seeks to create a more detailed description of traffic accidents. The developed data format will facilitate comparisons with existing European and global accident databases.

Following the project's final report, plans are underway to continue implementing a Deep Study Module for STRADA. Four steps have been identified toward establishing a National In-depth Accident Data Collection, with the workshop focusing on the initial steps. Efforts will be made to secure budget allocations for the development of the module.
