Workshop on medical imaging for model generation
The Human Body Modeling group at Applied Mechanics, Chalmers, invites you to a
WORKSHOP ON MEDICAL IMAGING FOR MODEL GENERATION
At SAFER, Lindholmspiren 3, December 12-16, 2011
This workshop is for those interested in 3D reconstruction, generating Finite Element Models and CFD, rapid Prototyping and CAD based on image data from MRI, Ultrasound and Computed Tomography (CT).
On Monday 12/12, the workshop will start with presentations about modeling work that has been carried out to explore the feasibility of using this techniques application in mechanical, biomechanical and fluid simulations.
An introduction about methodology for processing and meshing will be shown. Then, the workshop will continue hand-on exercises 12-15/12, everyone will get short term license. On Friday 16/12, it will end with a summary and discussion.
We will be working with Simpleware’s software that can do:
- Generation and reconstruction of 3D models based in image data.
- 3D visualization, analyses, verification of the model and extract measures.
- Define contact surface between parts, material properties, shells and boundary conditions.
- Preprocessing for Finite elements, CFD and CAD surface.
- Export directly to commercial software such as LSDYNA, ANSYS, Abaqus TM, MSC Nastran, MSC Patran.
Please register before 5/12 by email to Marta. Please specify if you want to attend the presentation and/or the hand-on exercises.
The workshop is funded by Chalmers area of advance Transport.
