Anders Marby - acting director at SAFER

Apr, 01 2017

Welcome Anders Marby, acting director at SAFER as of 1:st of April!

Anders has a long experience from similar positions, e.g. as director at Lighthouse, the Swedish Maritime Competence Centre at Chalmers. Currently, he is working at CIT (Chalmers Industriteknik) as director for operational support. We asked Anders a few questions and wish him all the best during his work at SAFER.

Who are you? I am a generalist who likes to learn new things. I am an engineer but I also studied economics.

What do you think will be most exciting to work with at SAFER?
To gain a greater insight into the operation at the competence center and to contribute to shape the future of SAFER.

What do you think is SAFER’s strongest USP to continue to conduct cutting edge research and attract new partners? SAFER has during its first three stages proved excellence in research and that the centre can generate a variety of exciting knowledge. Future partners will join a well established platform that can help find solutions to the challenges of safe sustainable mobility in the future.

How does a perfect Sunday look like? A great breakfast followed by a long walk with my dog.

Who do you want to take on your first ride in an autonomous car and why? I would like to bring my wife. Imagine being able to talk and to travel without being concentrated on the traffic.

Countryside or city life? Contryside!
Self driving cars or manual drive? Self driving!
Going by bike or electric bus? If I must be honest, car. But happily a car equipped with electric drive.
Reading a book or going for a walk? Too hard to pick one alternative, so it have be both, though not at the same time…!
