Call for abstracts to the 9th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention

Oct, 18 2023

Welcome to submit your abstract to be a part of the 9th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention, to be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the USA. The submission portal opens today!

This premiere international event on the topic of inattention and distracted driving attracts delegates from more than 20 countries with participants in government, industry and academia, and is designed to bring all participants up-to-date on developments and trends in the field.  And, for the first time in its history, it is headed to the United States!

The upcoming conference features keynote speakers, plenary and parallel sessions, a poster exhibition, student submission competitions, and panel dialogue with experts from various disciplines in this research area.  Generous opportunities for networking are woven throughout the conference, including an optional pre-conference workshop, so that participants may engage in conversation with experts from around the world to move forward with our common challenge: to save lives in traffic.

The Scientific Committee welcomes extended abstracts for presentations, papers or posters from all stakeholder groups (researchers, designers, engineers, policy makers, transport companies, etc.), from all modes of transport (land, air and sea) and from any relevant discipline including, but not limited to, psychology, neuropsychology, neuroscience, human factors, medicine, ergonomics, sociology, epidemiology, engineering and technology, law and politics, etc. All extended abstracts and papers for DDI proceedings are peerreviewed by the conference Scientific Committee. The overall theme for DDI2024 is “Advances in the understanding and management of distraction and inattention for all road users.”

DDI2024 follows the highly successful DDI conferences held previously in Gothenburg, Sweden (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018, 2022), Sydney, Australia (2015), and Paris, France (2017). The conference in 2021 was held online.

We will cooperate with a high impact factor scientific journal and the authors of the best abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper to a special issue of the journal. All conference papers will be peer-reviewed by at least two international experts on driver distraction and inattention, all of whom are members of the conference Scientific Committee.
