Feb, 16 2016

Rikard Fredriksson is new reference group leader for Traffic Safety Analysis, deputy director Ingrid Skogsmo is Seconded National Expert in Brussels, and Julia Franzén is working with the agreements for Stage 4.

From January 1st, Rikard Fredriksson, Autoliv, succeeded Robert Thomson as reference group leader for SAFERs research portfolio Traffic Safety Analysis (TSA). Rikard is senior specialist at Autoliv research and wrote his PhD thesis at Karolinska Institute 2011 within pedestrian protection. Currently he shares his work between being the Autoliv expert on vulnerable road users and leading Autoliv’s accident research with researchers in Sweden, India and China.

Beginning 1 December 2015 Ingrid Skogsmo, previous deputy director at SAFER, works as Seconded National Expert (SNE) at the European Commission in Brussels. For two years she is stationed at the Research & Innovation Directorate General, more specifically at the surface transport unit. SNE’s have dual roles: Bringing and sharing their experience and expertise, and to transfer gained knowledge to the home organization.

In addition to dealing with automated driving Ingrid also is involved in traffic safety issues. Examples of the unit’s responsibility is the development of research programmes, such as Horizon 2020, and participation in different policy initiatives. It is an advantage for SAFER and Sweden to have a SNE in Brussels and we have close contact with Ingrid.

Julia Franzén is working at SAFER until June and takes care of the preparations and agreements that have to be settled for SAFER’s Stage 4. Stage 4 starts on April 1 and lasts for 3 years.
