Can road safety evolve like nature itself - adapting, improving, and thriving in ever-changing environments?

Nov, 25 2024

We are proud to welcome EvoRoads to SAFER’s project portfolio! This ambitious initiative is dedicated to advancing a holistic Safe System approach that enhances safety for all road users, both in urban and rural environments.

The EvoRoads project aims to accelerate the European Union’s Vision Zero goal by creating innovative tools, models, and services that enable a data-driven evolution of safety assessment frameworks. Through dynamic monitoring of cyber-physical infrastructures, the project promotes proactive risk warnings, helping road operators and policymakers stay ahead of emerging safety challenges.

Key features of EvoRoads

  • AI-driven analytics to integrate infrastructure monitoring data at multiple geospatial resolutions.
  • Development of dynamic safety assessment frameworks for real-time risk evaluation.
  • Tools to support road operators in infrastructure maintenance and safety management.
  • Deployment of low-cost smart signs designed to influence positive user behaviors.
  • Validation in Living Labs located in Spain, Italy, Latvia, and Romania, addressing diverse road users and settings.
