Congratulations to Alexandros Leledakis for becoming a SAFER doctor!
We are thrilled to announce Alexandros Leledakis as the first graduate to graduate as a SAFER doctor in 2024. Alexandros successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled "Heterogeneity in Car Occupant Safety - Using Numerical Simulations to Address Real-world Safety" at the Department of Vehicle Safety, Chalmers University, in collaboration with Volvo Cars, today February 22.
Alexandros' research focused on car occupant safety utilizing advanced computer simulations. Through his work, he uncovered insights into crash dynamics and occupant safety. Notably, his findings highlighted the evolving landscape of automatic braking systems, which are increasingly adept at preventing crashes. his discovery serves as a cornerstone for the development of more effective safety systems in the automotive industry.
His dissertation defense, held under the supervision of Mats Svensson from Chalmers University and co-supervised by Lotta Jakobsson, Jonas Östh from Volvo Cars, and Johan Davidsson from Chalmers, saw Francisco López Valdés from the Engineering School (ICAI), Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Madrid, Spain, as the opponent.
Best wishes to Alexandros as he embarks on the next chapter of his academic and professional career.
