DDI2018: Registration open and preliminary programs set!

Mar, 06 2018

The International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention is the premiere international event on this topic, attracting delegates from more than 20 countries. It is designed to bring participants – from government, industry and academia – up-to-date on current and recent developments and trends in the field of inattention and distraction in driving.

Registration is open!
We have now opened the registration to the 6th International conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention, welcome to sign up to the event. The early bird fee (regular SEK 4500, students SEK 3300) is valid until July 31, 2018.

Theme: Driver engagement during assisted driving
That different levels of automated vehicles may be on the roads sooner than we can imagine. Amazingly exciting for researchers - and for the general public. But what does the different levels of automation really mean to the driver’s attention, the ability to change the roles of being a passenger and the driver in charge, and how quickly a person can take back control when needed. The new technology gives rise to a variety of really interesting research questions, as we will discuss at DDI2018. The DDI2018 theme “Driver engagement during assisted driving” will permeate the whole event, welcome to join the dialogue!

Program and technical visits
The preliminary program is now published and interesting technical visits are also arranged during the conference:

•Smart Eye - develops and markets eye tracking systems that remotely measure and calculate a person’s gaze
•AstaZero state-of-the art proving ground, developed for testing of active safety systems
•Simulator Sim IV at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI)
•MobilityXlab - innovation lab for autonomous cars
•Volvo Cars factory tour
