Einride – our new partner, will contribute with new perspectives on the development of autonomous vehicles
SAFER is growing and we welcome Einride as an associated partner to the community!
Einride is developing electric vehicles that are autonomous and built for SAE level 4 autonomy. At level 4, autonomous vehicle systems are fully responsible for all driving and navigational tasks. It is a unique vehicle and solution, and the safety case is at the core of this development. In 2019, Einride was the first in the world to operate an autonomous electric truck on a US public road. Today, they lead several initiatives to put automation in the forefront. Safety is the most important aspect related to these operations.
SAFER’s director Magnus Granström comments on the new collaboration:
“We look forward to working with Einride in the area of road safety. We especially like to learn from experience in developing and testing SAE level 4 autonomous trucks, the connected remote interface, and the safety case it is built on. We see a large potential in future collaboration in research projects related to safe automation on public roads”.
We welcome Einride to the partnership!
