Apr, 07 2019

In the beginning of April, ERTRAC, the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, held its annual conference. The programme covered several topics related to the development and research needs for road transport, such as: The European Green Vehicles Initiative: 10 years of achievements and future perspectives, Europe on the way to Connected Automated Driving, Road Safety: a research roadmap to support the Vision Zero, and Long Distance Freight Transport: a new roadmap for a sector in transformation.

In the Road Safety session, SAFER’s director Magnus Granström presented the overall reasoning behind and priorities of the roadmap that was delivered to the commission. The commission representative, DG Move deputy director Matthew Baldwin, was very appreciative of the roadmap and supported fully the proposed research priorities.
