Ministerial delegation from Malaysia visits SAFER

Feb, 18 2020

On February 18, a ministerial delegation from Malaysia visited SAFER to learn more about road safety and how to work in close collaboration between different types of stakeholders.

Minister of Transport Malaysia, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, and his delegation came to visit SAFER with the purpose to gain an understanding on how the collaborative open research arena formed by industries, government agencies and academia drive policy change in terms of road safety. Fredrik von Corswant, leader for the connected research resource Revere, hosted the delegation and presented SAFER, as well as the vehicle lab for active safety systems and automation.

“The Minister and his companions were interested in collaboration and financing models, for instance how to effectively implement road safety measures for two-wheelers, which are very common in Asia”, Fredrik reports.

During the visit to Gothenburg, the delegation also visited Volvo and Västtrafik, among others.

Magnus Granström, SAFER's director, comments on the high-level visit:

"The fact that delegations on such a high level from other countries come and visit us is a clear proof point that our research is at the absolute forefront”.
