New doctor in the SAFER community: Christian Kleinbach
On October 23, 2019 Christian Kleinbach defended his doctoral thesis with the title “Simulation of Occupant Kinematics using Active Human Body Models” at the University of Stuttgart, Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics.
Christian made an internship hosted by Prof. Karin Brolin at Chalmers/SAFER during the spring 2017 as part of his PhD studies. In his PhD project, Christian used the VIVA open source human body model that was developed in the SAFER-associated project Viva. Christian has now developed a new active muscle system for the neck of the Viva model that will become publicly available. The Viva model is currently under further development in the SAFER-associated EU-project VIRTUAL.
