New project in the SAFER portfolio: CCAM Sweden

May, 08 2024

CCAM Sweden is a new project aiming to support Swedish actors within the CCAM partnership, several of them SAFER partners. It seeks to enhance their involvement in influencing upcoming programs and creating traffic safety research projects. The project offers a "mirror group" to the CCAM partnership and a platform for increased Swedish participation. CCAM Sweden offers additional opportunities for SAFER partners to engage in EU activities and scale up existing projects. Furthermore, the project will utilize SAFER activities and network to provide relevant input to EU activities.

About CCAM:

CCAM stands for Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility.

Despite its potential to contribute to key policy goals such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal, deployment of CCAM solutions faces challenges. These include insufficient demand due to society's limited understanding of the benefits, maturity issues in CCAM solutions, fragmented R&I efforts, and limitations in demonstration and scale-up.

The CCAM Partnership aims to create a more user-centered and inclusive mobility system, improving road safety, while reducing congestion and environmental impact. It fosters collaborative research, testing, and demonstration projects to accelerate innovation and implementation of automated mobility. Additionally, it works at the European level to remove barriers and facilitate the efficient rollout of automation technologies and services.
