New SAFER Working Group on Remote Operations launched
We are pleased to announce the creation of a new working group at SAFER, dedicated to Remote Operations. This group aims to bring together stakeholders from across the SAFER network who are interested in collaborating to build knowledge and drive innovation in this rapidly evolving field.
As the automotive industry continues to advance towards automation, fully autonomous driving remains a distant goal. In the meantime, human involvement through remote monitoring and control of vehicles is critical. Remote operations present both opportunities and challenges for the future of traffic safety, and this new working group will focus on developing expertise and sharing insights on how remote operations can support the transition to safe, automated transport.
Led by Jonas Andersson and Mikael Söderman from RISE, the group will bring together Swedish companies, universities, and research institutes to foster collaboration, exchange research findings, and develop new proposals. The goal is to strengthen Sweden’s position in this field and boost international competitiveness through innovative solutions.
SAFER’s working groups are central to our mission of fostering creativity, research, and idea incubation. They serve as dynamic platforms for partners to engage in focused discussions that lead to project development and collaborative learning. Open to all SAFER partners, these groups are vital for driving inspiration and shaping future activities.
We invite all interested partners to join the Remote Operations Working Group and be part of this exciting initiative, welcome to sign up here.
