Record low number of fatalities in road traffic 2017

The number of fatalities in Sweden in 2017 is the lowest in modern times. During the year, 254 people died, which is a decrease of 16 people since the previous year.

Most of those who died in road traffic were passengers or drivers in cars, 136 people. 36 were walking and hit by a vehicle, 35 were motorcycle drivers and 24 were cyclists. Still, more actions are needed to reach a sustinable mobility system.
