Nov, 29 2017

Transport Forum is the largest annual conference for the transport sector. At Transport Forum scientists and the transport sector's many stakeholders met for knowledge exchange and networking. The conference is organized by VTI, the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, and held in Linköping January 10-11, 2018.
SAFER is participating with a session about the important research area Care & Rescue January 10, 13:15-14:45.

The session consists of talks from different actors with a final engaging debate.According to WHO and other actors in, for example the European commission, Care and rescue plays an important role in reducing fatalities and injury rates following a road accident. Correct assessments of the injured together with proper treatment and rapid transport to the "right" healthcare and care level are of utmost importance to the outcome. Improvements in this area will significantly reduce social costs and human suffering. Research in Care & Rescue is a priority area within SAFER's activities and the knowledge of the center's researchers is great. The seminar will take the listeners through the latest statistics and findings in the area and discusses what measures are considered most effective and important to reduce damage and save lives after a traffic accident.
