SAFER has had an active role in the development of the new roadmap and we have contributed both to specific topics, e.g. New ways of understanding and reducing long-term injuries, as well as chapters setting the roadmap in its context with respect to road safety needs and developments, not least in the context of automated driving. The roadmap will be delivered to the European Commission in April, hopefully leading to suitable funding available for SAFER projects in the upcoming research programme Horizon Europe. ERTRAC is the European Technology Platform which brings together road transport stakeholders to develop a common vision for road transport research in Europe.
