Successful child safety seminar - presentations available

Sep, 26 2017

On September 20, SAFER invited to a whole day seminar on the latest research on child occupant protection. About fifteen international researchers shared their state-of-art safety research, discussed future opportunities, with the target to set the future agenda for child occupant protection. A special focus was how we align user expectation and the user experience with optimized safety in the context of changing mobility modes.

SAFER's host Lotta Jakobsson comments on the event:
´During the day we managed to summarise the ongoing research and industrial activities in a very good way. We had fruitful discussions and shared knowledge´.

One of the main challenges and a future focus is the fact that real children does not behave like crash test dummies and we need to accomodate this rather than prevent their behaviour. Kristy Arbogast, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was the moderator. About 50 delegated participated in the seminar.

The powerpoint presentations from the seminar are available. Note: an updated version will be uploaded in mid-October, awaiting publication at the AAAM conference.
