We have had very busy six months and a well-deserved summer holiday is finally approaching! We would like to thank you all for your great commitment and engagement during this half-year. There is such strong power in our collaboration; despite the ongoing pandemic, we continue to perform our research and knowledge sharing activities. Eight new partners have joined SAFER, we have started almost 20 projects, 12 have been concluded and we have had a strong focus on mobilizing our future collaboration research agenda to jointly benefit from the recommendations from the global UN conference, to support the global Strategic Development Goals and the new global traffic safety targets in the recently adopted UN resolution. Just recently, the new European research programme Horizon Europe launched the first work programmes, to which we have contributed to secure funding for road safety research. 
We have also continued to explore how AI can contribute to our research and our pre-study programme has really taken off with many exiting project ideas that we now hope will be developed into larger projects that take us closer to our vision that all road users should travel safely in the road transport system.
