Welcome back to work and collaboration through SAFER!

Aug, 14 2019

Warm welcome back to SAFER after a hopefully nice and relaxing summer! We look forward to a new period of fruitful collaboration, interesting meetings and new rewarding knowledge. This spring, 35 partners signed a five-year agreement on continued joint vehicle and traffic safety research and it will be exciting to continue this work together.

Our seminar activities continue in a similar way and we have several major activities planned. Already this week, the 26th International Symposium on Dynamics of Vehicles on Roads and Tracks (IAVSD) organized by SAFER's competence network Vehicle dynamics, is ongoing at Lindholmen Science Park. And on September 4, it is again time to meet the very elite in child safety research at the seminar Child Occupant Protection - Latest knowledge and challenges in future mobility. Our work on creating a strong consortium for the last calls within Horizon 2020 will also be in focus during the autumn.

In September, our co-located researchers from Chalmers’ Division of Vehicle Safety will leave our premises and move into the neighboring house Saga, a building where other departments within the same department are currently located. We will therefore explore the possibilities of co-locate with other vehicle and traffic safety researchers from our partners, or other relevant stakeholders, here at Lindholmen Science Park. In parallel, we are investigating the possibility of relocating SAFER to premises in direct connection with Chalmers’ vehicle safety division. We will keep you updated on these developments. In the meantime, everyone is warmly welcome to us here at Lindholmen, where you find nice workplaces in an inspiring environment. If you are also interested in teaming up with us through a more permanent co-location to get the most out of your valuable network and give our joint research an extra boost, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,
Magnus
