Welcome Sofie Vennersten - SAFER’s new Board member

SAFER’s director Magnus Granström welcomes our new Board member:

“We are very pleased to welcome Sofie Vennersten in her new role at SAFER, representing Volvo Group in the Board. Sofie has a long and solid background of successfully leading complex collaboration environments as well as from multidisciplinary research and development that will be value-creating for SAFER”.

Sofie is currently Director of Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs at Volvo Group. In her role she drives the public policy and regulatory affairs agenda related to technology and transport solutions focusing on among other things connectivity, digitalization, vehicle safety, data sharing and logistic solutions for the Volvo Group. Sofie was in her previous role Program Director for Drive Sweden, the Swedish Strategic Innovation Program aimed at sustainable, safe and accessible mobility for people and goods. CLOSER is another program that Sofie has previously led at Lindholmen Science Park and she also has experience from leading major collaborative projects through various European research and innovation framework programs.

Sofie comments on her new role in the SAFER Board:

“Traffic safety is at the heart of what we do in Volvo Group. I have followed SAFER´s work for many years, and I look forward to now being able to contribute more actively in the development going forward. In the system transformation we are in the middle of, we really need to collaborate with other stakeholders from academia, industry, society and the road users, and SAFER is an excellent platform for this”.

Sofie Vennersten replaces Claes Avedal in the SAFER Board. We also thank Claes for his valuable contributions to SAFER's development and wish him all the best in future roles and activities.
