Gunnar Olsson, Division of Vehicle Safety, Department Applied Mechanics, welcomes you to his lecture.

Title: More than 20 years of vehicle dynamics and chassis development within the automotive industry

Dr Gunnar Olsson completed his PhD in atomic physics 1982 at the University of Gothenburg. After his PhD studies Gunnar Olsson made his career within the automotive industry, starting January 1983 at Saab in Trollhättan with vehicle test and development.This led later on to several different positions at Saab and GM, including 3 ½ years as Engineering Manager for Advanced Engineering Chassis and Transmission, GMIO, at Adam Opel in Rüsselsheim, Germany.

During 26 years of work Gunnar Olsson has work experience from several fields of vehicle engineering, with focus on vehicle dynamics, chassis and platform development, including global engagements and responsibilities.

Gunnar Olsson will provide an overview of vehicle dynamics and chassis engineering, review collaborative activities with Chalmers and other institutes, nationally and abroad. He will also give an outlook on research needs and potential fields of collaborative research.

Gunnar Olsson will become an adjunct professor at the division of  Vehicle Safety at Chalmers University of Technology.
