SAFER Workshop on Crash Compatibility
Crash compatibility is a challenge for vehicle designers. The EU Project FIMCAR will be completed in September 2012 and is proposing a new set of frontal impact tests that should promote better compatibility in frontal impacts.
The workshop will allow experts from the FIMCAR project to discuss research findings with SAFER researchers and identify priorities for future research.
The workshop has 2 main themes. An overview of compatibility issues and current test proposals will be presented for passenger cars and heavy vehicles. A second area will be the discussion of research resources (test data, simulation models) that are available or need further development. A discussion session to identify future research needs session will close the workshop.
