SARTRE-project final workshop and demonstration
SARTRE is a FP7 European project that performs transportation research, namely road train on public roads (also called platooning). A road train, according to SARTRE, is a collection of vehicles led by a manually forward heavy lead vehicle, and where several following vehicles (truck and passenger cars) follow the leader automatically, both laterally and longitudinally. The vehicles communicate wirelessly to form a cooperative system. Benefits expected are increased comfort, reduced fuel consumption, greater safety, efficient transportation, etc.
The SARTRE project will hold the final workshop and platooning demonstration on the 11-12th of September, 2012 in Borås (close to Gothenburg) Sweden. You are invited to participate in this event!
The results of the SARTRE project will be presented on the morning of the first day. The demonstration of the SARTRE platooning technology will take place in the afternoon at the Hällered test track near Borås. We will demonstrate five vehicle platooning and a platooning simulator. The second day will be a workshop where the needs and agendas of various stakeholders will be addressed.
Discussions will be held in English. No external media will be invited.
Host: Carl Bergenhem, SP – Technical Research Institute of Sweden, partner in SARTRE
