Place
Chalmers Campus Lindholmen, Hörselgången 5, House JupiterRoom: Jupiter 243

Safety is one of the main drivers that push the development of automated driving technology. A major motivation of automated driving is the potential to reduce accidents caused by human error. The PhD thesis defence of Steve Stephen Ridella (on the topic of rollover protection), scheduled on Wednesday May 17 in the morning, offers an excellent opportunity to schedule a seminar at SAFER with 2 experts in the topic of safety of automated vehicles.

The first speaker is Stephen’s opponent, Peter Thomas, Professor of Road and Vehicle Safety, Safe and Smart  Mobility Research Cluster, Loughborough University, UK and the 2nd speaker will be Stephen Ridella himself, who is since January, 2017, the Director of the Office of Defects Investigation at the National Traffic Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) in Washington, DC, USA. We welcome you all at this SAFER Seminar, which will be moderated by Jac Wismans visiting professor at Chalmers/SAFER.
