The next stage of SAFER is being developed

Jun, 19 2018

The current stage will end March 31, 2019, and the SAFER Board has been asked to draw up a proposal for the design of a subsequent stage. At the Shareholders’ meeting in April, partners expressed a strong wish to continue the successful collaborative research through the SAFER platform.

Malin Levin, responsible for SAFER’s partnerships tells more:
“Of course, we want to ensure that SAFER's core continue to be based on our past success factors, such as our multidisciplinary approach, ability to build knowledge across many disciplines, gathering and analyzing of naturalistic driving data, development of world-unique human models, but also our platform for knowledge dissemination and networking. This gives us a unique position to take on the challenges of the future, of which there are many

Collection of input from partners
At the moment, valuable input is collected from SAFER's partners and members. This is conducted primarily through interviews and also questionnaires. The material is compiled and will be presented to the SAFER Board.
"We see clearly that our partners appreciate our current way of working with a lot of activities for networking and dissemination of knowledge and research results, but we also see opportunities to give even more back, for example, by creating more smaller projects that also involve the smaller partners and be faster by picking up new research areas and better support new innovations and ideas.”

The aim is to have a first proposal for a framework and research plan to present to current members and partners at the end of September.

"Then we will process the proposal ahead of an extra shareholders meeting in November," Malin concludes.
