SAFER seminar: Ethical applications and considerations, in traffic safety research assessing human behaviour
The Act concerning the Ethical Review of Research Involving Humans (SFS 2003:460) applies to all scientific fields and ensures that research is conducted with respect for human dignity and safeguarding the human rights and fundamental freedoms. As such, the Act establishes the procedures to assess the physical and psychological impact on human participants, the handling of sensitive personal data and the right to withdraw the consent to participate in a research project. From the 1st of January 2019, applications for ethical examination of research are scrutinized by the new Swedish Ethical Review Authority – Etikprövningsmyndigheten – and not anymore by regional committees.
This seminar will discuss the importance of ethical applications in traffic safety research assessing human behaviour, in order to understand the current process for ethical examination. All SAFER partners with interest in this subject are welcome to join.
The seminar is jointly organized by the SAFER competence network in Human Behaviour and by the SAFER research area on Road User Behaviour.
