Disruptive technologies redraw the mobility landscape, driven by the ongoing rapid developments towards automated driving, connectivity, electrification, and ridesharing which offers endless possibilities, but it’s not without challenges. The mobility sector is changing faster than ever before and relationships across different sectors, industries, and countries are crucial to survive in this competitive environment. The future will require reflection, trust, and commitment which will create the right conditions for mobility in a democratic and sustainable society, cornerstones of Nordic values.

The summit “Future Mobility: Nordic Values in Disruptive Mobility Development” will aim to create a bridge between the Nordics and Silicon Valley by connecting the dots in the field of mobility, using Nordic values to solve future challenges.

In the event SAFER's Azra Habibovic, RISE and Ingrid Skogsmo, VTI will participate in the Vision Zero activity. SAFER's collaboration model will be used as a state-of-the-art example on how joining forces with a smart multidisciplinary approach can contribute to a more sustainable transport system.

Vision Zero -activity (Jan 17, 2020)
In 1997, the Swedish parliament adopted Vision Zero as a long-term goal and strategy for road safety.  Vision Zero is a mission-oriented policy innovation, which is now spreading around the world. For example, the EU white paper on transport stated that EU should by 2050, move close to zero fatalities in road transport. In the US, more than 40 cities in US has adopted Vision Zero and at the US federal level a road to zero strategy was launched in 2018. In this workshop, the relation between bold public policy such as Vision Zero and merging technology will be explored and discussed. A theme that will underpin the whole workshop is how public institutions, business and academy need to work together in order to deliver a safe road transport system for all people.
