SAFER seminar: How to create long lasting and sustainable behavioral changes - and how can this be applied to road safety?

Safer behavior among road users would lead to fewer accidents and injuries in traffic. In this seminar we want to learn from other areas, what are the common factors that make us humans choose a more favorable behavior, and moreover, how can the behaviour remain over a longer period of time? Welcome to participate in knowledge building together with SAFER!

The seminar will be hosted by Azra Habibovic, Research area director for Road user behaviour at SAFER.

Speakers

  • Magnus Lindwall, Professor of Psychology, University of Gothenburg: Research primarily within Sustainable motivation and behavior change linked primarily to lifestyle and physical activity.
  • Sonja Forward, Psychologist and senior researcher at the Swedish Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI): As a psychologist, her focus has been on mechanisms that control behavior and how it can be influenced with the help of behavioral change. 
  • Erik Figenbaum, Chief research engineer at TØI: Research experience includes various aspects of electrification of cars, buses and trucks as well as electrical systems development at the EV producer Think Nordic and BEV policy development at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and the Norwegian Environment Agency. 

The talks will be followed by a discussion and Q&A-session.
