Welcome to dig into the questions “when are AD systems safe enough?”!

Our main target with this workshop is to identify knowledge gaps that we find in the workshop and to address these through the SAFER platform. In order to do this, we are looking for Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) that can support this argument, e.g. in future communication with certifying authorities on the performance of AD systems.

There are three perspectives from which we can search for these SPIs:
1.    Retrospective (classic field data, what happened?) 
2.    Streaming in real-time (right now, what is happening?)
3.    Prospective (testing/simulation, what will happen?) 

The workshop will focus on how all three perspectives can be used to answer our main question; When are AD systems safe enough?”. We will discuss:

•    What do we know today?
•    Which SPIs exist?
•    Where are the knowledge gaps for future research?

You will get to learn about the existing and upcoming ISO standards that will support us in this work as well as reflect upon the main differences between the ADAS and AD systems.

This workshop is primarily for Research area members in SAFER’s reference groups Safety Performance evaluation, Systems for accident prevention and AD and the Competence network for Safety assurance and System Safety. Special invitations only.
