Welcome to a SAFER seminar with Associate professor Ashley Weaver!

Ashley Weaver is visiting Chalmers in conjunction to Emma Larsson's PhD defence and will give us an insightful talk about redicting risk of Automotive, Spaceflight, and fall Injuries with Human Body Models.

Ashley Weaver, PhD is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Wake Forest University. She directs recruiting for the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (VT-WFU SBES) graduate program and is the program director for an undergraduate summer REU program. She obtained degrees in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University (BS), and Wake Forest University (MS, PhD). She has 15 years of experience in injury biomechanics and has authored over 100 journal articles. Her research pairs medical image analysis and finite element modeling to study injury, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal health and fracture. She has worked on projects focused on high-energy trauma (e.g., automotive, spaceflight) and low-energy trauma (e.g., osteoporotic fracture).
