SAFER Human Body Model for Virtual Testing, Current Status and Future Possibilities

Date
21 November 2024 11:30-12:45
Place
Lindholmen Science Park, Lindholmspiren 3A (vån 2), room Aldman or online via Teams

As virtual testing is gaining rapidly in importance for safety evaluations and Euro NCAP has announced inclusion of virtual testing with human body models in the rating program there is a need for human body models capable of predicting human crash response. A leading human body model is SAFER HBM. Professor Bengt Pipkorn from Autoliv and Chalmers will share insights on this pivotal initiative at this week's SAFER lunch seminar. The SAFER HBM, predicts injury risk in various impact scenarios, can be morphed to represent a large proportion of the population, predicts humanlike kinematics in crash events and pre-crash maneuvers, can be used for safety evaluations for all road users such as vehicle occupants, pedestrians, motorcycle riders etc. Currently the model is in the process to make it a certified tool for Euro NCAP virtual testing. The effort aims to enhance road safety through advanced human body modeling, and we are happy to share the details with the community, welcome!.
