How does the reporting from the hospitals to STRADA work after the Covid pandemic?

The STRADA accident database is based on road traffic accidents that have resulted in personal injury and that are reported by the police and emergency hospitals/emergency departments. Initially, the reporting from the hospitals was voluntary and based on individual agreements with the Swedish Transport Agency. From 2021, hospitals are required by law to report all patients who visit an emergency hospital after a traffic accident to STRADA. For "natural reasons", the reporting during the corona pandemic became much worse, but from some emergency hospitals the reporting has not returned to the same level of reporting or is largely non-existent. The purpose of the project is to gain an understanding of the emergency hospitals' possibilities to report to STRADA. According to healthcare professionals, what are the biggest challenges and why are some hospitals able to report to STRADA while others are not?

Traffic safety benefit: In order to know what efforts and measures are needed for increased road traffic safety, it is important to have a correct basis regarding accidents and injuries. The project will examine what problems or obstacles may exist in the healthcare system with regard to STRADA reporting and thus form a basis for recommendations on improvements to the extent necessary.
