Travel Safe at Work
The Travel Safe at Work project aims to contribute to a safer and more sustainable transport system by raising awareness that traffic safety during work-related travel is a workplace safety issue. Through targeted information campaigns, the project will enhance employers’ understanding of how they can ensure that employees travel as safely and securely as possible while on duty. The primary objective is to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured in work-related traffic accidents. The main target group is employers, with media serving as an additional channel to reach the broader audience of road users, including employees who drive, cycle, or walk as part of their work duties.
By strengthening national traffic safety efforts, this project will also support the transition towards more sustainable mobility. Furthermore, it contributes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by integrating traffic safety into broader sustainability aspects, such as health, equality, and responsible corporate practices. Traffic safety is a crucial sustainability factor that must be linked to other environmental and social sustainability efforts to create safe, accessible, and attractive environments for all.
The primary traffic safety benefit of this project is the reduction of work-related road crashes by equipping employers with the knowledge and tools to ensure safer travel for their employees.
The project is conducted by NTF Väst in close collaboration with Arbetsmiljöverket.
